I have come to honor my family for who they are, what they have taught me and am beginning to understand my unique and purpose-filled journey into being a part of them. Although I continue to wonder about the influence of nature vs nurture, I humbly acknowledge that I would not be who I am without them. This year's was the best birthday gift that I can remember: the gift of perspective.
